The League televises the fights, controls all the money that flows around the fights, including gambling, television rights, and a take of the entrance fees, and all that money is split between them. They fail. They scheme. They lie and cheat. So this is not modern day Earth, but some form of it. Perhaps a parallel dimension? Alternate universe? Tor is a slave, has been all his life. He was bred for fighting, grew up in a litter of other werewolves, stripped of his parents.

I had to kill Jin off, you know. Of course, the werewolves are slaves, but I wanted other slaves also. In this sort of society, there would be many types of slaves. And where better to train a slave than a harem? So I threw in my love and interest in Persian harems and created a bratty little slave boy named Sky. Sky grew up a slave, and was chosen to be a sex slave because of his beauty. Sky is also sheltered, pampered and very innocent.

tor werewolf fight league book 1 Manual

Roman gladiators. I wanted to add those elements into my world. Everyone gets the dog fights — werewolves, right? But I wanted it to be more than just throwing two wolves in a cage and letting them maul each other. I wanted the men in there also, for the UFC factor, sweaty, straining, muscular men grappling with each other. Get me a towel! Because in my world, the mates are in the cage with the werewolves — being defended from a challenger, who has the chance to beat the defending wolf and take and claim his mate.

Right there, in the cage, in front of the crowd and the televised audience. And did I mention everyone is naked. Stakes are high. Pride and titles are on the line, and even more, mates are forfeit.

Now take all that and wrap it up in a complex modeled on the Roman Coliseum, a multi-level building housing living quarters, training facilities and the arena. Lights, heat, air, are all controlled. I hope readers will enjoy stepping into this world to see my men fight. Lynn is hosting a giveaway to one of our lucky followers. Thanatos, the most deadly Horseman of the Apocalypse, has endured thousands of years of celibacy to prevent the end of days. But just one night with the wickedly sexy Aegis Guardian, Regan Cooper, shatters centuries of resolve.

Yet their passion comes with a price. And Thanatos must face a truth more terrifying than an apocalypse-he's about to become a father. Demon-slayer Regan Matthews never imagined herself the maternal type, but with the fate of the world hanging in the balance she had no choice but to seduce Thanatos and bear his child. Now, as the final battle draws closer and his rage at being betrayed is overshadowed by an undeniable passion for the mother of his child, Thanatos has a life-shattering realization: To save the world, he must sacrifice the only thing he's ever wanted-a family.

My favorite of the three so far. Oh man, Thanatos is my favorite of the four.

In Ashland, the relationship starts with the characters occupying two different strata in society. Murphy is doing well as a seasoned successful trainer.

Dan is the apprentice who is ready to branch out on his own, lower middle class on the rise. And then there is Durio, bankrupt and unable to pay his taxes, someone on the way down and hopefully out. I didn't really like the first book in this series but this one hit all the right notes for me. I enjoyed the world building and the way in which the werewolf slaves lived within the society, accepting their roles and their places within the societal structure, but also desiring both their freedom and desiring the need to be the best fighters. The imagery is much like that of gladiators in ancient Rome, although with different rules.

The rules of this world and the way in which the werewolves ha I didn't really like the first book in this series but this one hit all the right notes for me. The rules of this world and the way in which the werewolves had mates and relationships is a very interesting take on the usual werewolf stories.

Quite unique. I think it is this that makes the story so interesting. Ashland the werewolf has to be sold to pay off his master's taxes. He doesn't mind because his master was a brutal man and evil man who abused him. Ashland is bought by Dan who is just starting the werewolf training business. He hopes to train Ashland and develop his business. He doesn't expect to fall in love with his werewolf. He does his utmost to resist this because he believes as a slave owner to do so would be forcing his slave into a relationship that he has no choice about. Ashland doesn't see it like that because he loves his new master and his new life.

And so they eventually open up to each other but just as things become rosy and promising Ashlands previous owner tries to get him back and Ashland and Dan are thrown into a battle of a different kind. This is a simple story but very interesting. I love werewolf stories and really enjoyed the way this story brought a new dimension to the usual fare.

I also felt this was so much better than book 1 in the series. I can't say why, it might simply be that I liked the main characters much more which I did. The fight scenes were great. The way in which the fighting league operated and the whole ethics of a world in which slavery is accepted was really engaging. I shall definitely get the next book. I hope it will be just as interesting as this one.

After watching Ash and Stolz close but unattached relationship I was prepared for book 2 to take up after the end of Tor's story. Which is fine as a stand alone book, but ends up completely throwing off the timeline of Tor's story.
